Sustainability timeline

Not just buzzwords - for us it's a company culture.

Sustainability may be a buzzword. But for us it’s been part of our company culture since 1932, when Jonas Lundhag started his little shoemaker shop on Frösön in Jämtland – even back then his idea was to make boots that would last a lifetime. We often say that sustainability has been in our DNA from 1932 until today, and into the future.

1932
Lundhags is founded with the idea of manufacturing shoes that last for a lifetime. Boot repair is offered from the very beginning.

1960
We create the shell boots that have become the most sustainable boots on the market.

1980
We offer leather treatment from an old family recipe which keeps boots lasting even longer.

1998
We start manufacturing technical apparel and backpacks with the aim of creating long-lasting products.

2005
We start various projects to recycle materials that would otherwise be wasted. Recycling of both boots, trousers, backpacks and fleece hoodie that are sold in own stores.

2016
We start to systematically evaluate how our suppliers are meeting our sustainability targets.

2017
We begin to record details of all our materials and chemicals.

2018
We make our products available for hire in collaboration with Outdoorbuddies.

2018
All our products are entirely free from fluorocarbons.
