Padje Ultralight – Freedom in Every Gram

A new generation of ultralight backpacks for experienced hikers.
With Padje Ultralight, Lundhags introduces a new backpack for those who want to carry lighter – without compromising on comfort, functionality, or durability. Padje Ultralight is designed for lightweight hiking, where base weight stays below approximately 4.5 kg, and every detail is carefully considered to minimize unnecessary weight and maximize freedom of movement.

Lightweight hiking is not about cutting weight at all costs, but about finding the right balance between weight, safety, and comfort. With a lighter backpack, you move more efficiently, conserve energy, and stay strong for longer – leaving more room to truly enjoy the outdoors and the experience.

The series is available in two versions, 25 L (480gr) and 45 L (810-820gr), tailored for different types of adventures – from fast day hikes to long, demanding treks.

Two models – whats the difference?

  • Padje Ultralight 45 L features a 360° detachable frame and a vest-style harness system for stable, comfortable carrying on longer trips and with heavier loads.
  • Padje Ultralight 25 L is frameless and fully taped, offering maximum flexibility and the lowest possible weight for fast, minimalist adventures.

Padje Ultralight 45 L

Designed for thru-hiking and multi-day adventures, the Padje Ultralight 45 L prioritizes carry comfort, durability, and minimal weight. Its unique frame construction, combined with the exclusive Ultra™ fabric, delivers stable and comfortable carrying even as your load increases, without unnecessary bulk. With generous volume, smartly placed pockets, and an ergonomic vest-style harness system, it provides fast access to essential gear and is built to perform day after day on the trail.

Built for those who want to move quickly and efficiently, this frameless ultralight backpack focuses on simplicity without sacrificing essential functionality. With a clean, minimalist design, durable Ultra™ fabrics, and smart organization, it carries exactly what you need — nothing more, nothing less. Its compact profile makes it equally suited for fast hikes, travel, and everyday adventures, where low weight, freedom of movement, and easy access to gear are key.

Ultra™ fabric

Both models are made from Ultra™ fabric - an advanced high-performance material developed for extreme conditions. It combines exceptional strength with extremely low weight.

UHMWPE – Ultra High Molecular Polyethylene

  • Up to 15× stronger than steel relative to weight
  • Waterproof >140,000 mm and hydrophobic — no DWR treatment needed
  • Extremely low weight with outstanding cut and abrasion resistance
  • 3× higher tear strength and 7× better abrasion resistance than comparable materials

UltraMesh™

UltraMesh™ is used for the pockets — a durable and flexible mesh material developed for high-wear areas where freedom of movement is essential.

UHMWPE – Ultra High Molecular Polyethylene
